What you are looking at

Funding rate is the small fee longs and shorts pay each other to keep the perpetual price near spot. Positive means longs pay shorts (bullish crowding); negative means shorts pay longs.

Open interest is the total value of open perpetual positions. Rising open interest with rising price means new money entering; rising open interest with flat price often means a big move is building.

Neither number predicts direction on its own — they show positioning and crowding, which is why they pair with the lessons on leverage and risk.
